John "Bud" R. Moore

John R. “Bud” Moore, 89, 742 Belle Springs Road, Mill Hall died Sept. 15, 2017 at his home. Born Oct. 14, 1927 in Flemington, PA he was the son of the late John and Ruth Holmes Moore. On Dec. 31, 1947 he married Janet I. Allen who died Feb. 14, 2005.

Bud attended the Flemington schools and was a W.W. II  veteran serving in Co. C, 17th Armored Eng. Bn. For his service he was awarded the W.W. II Victory Medal. For more than 57 years Bud was a truck driver and he and his late wife owned and operated the Red Eye Sports Center from 1971-1987. He was a former member and Deacon of the Mill Hall Church of Christ and enjoyed in his earlier years hunting and shooting skeet and trap.

He is survived by:

           1 Daughter: Cynthia ‘Cindy” (Karl) Walizer, Mill Hall, PA

           1 Son: James R. (Deb) Moore, Mill Hall, PA

           6 Grandchildren

          12 Great Grandchildren

            2 Sisters: Genevieve Marshall & Virginia Harlan

            3 Brothers: Sheldon, Doyle and Ronald Moore

A memorial service honoring the life of John R. “Bud” Moore is being planned and will be announced.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cedar Heights Brethern in Christ Church or Centre Crossings Hospice thru the funeral home.
