Gary A. Weimer, 75, 359 Duck Run Road, Mill Hall, PA died November 20, 2019 at Jersey Shore Manor Care. Born November 10, 1944 in Olean, NY, he was the son of the late Arthur & Jean Pelham Kennedy. Gary was later adopted by the late Elno Weimer. On June 6, 1987 he married Marcia A. Detweiler who survives at home.
Gary was a 1963 graduate of Coudersport High School. He was an U. S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam War for which he received the Viet Nam Service Medal, the Viet Nam Campaign Medal with 6 Service Stars, the National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Expert M-14, Meritorious Unit Citation and the Good Conduct Medal with the 1st & 2nd Awards.
A carpenter by trade, Gary had worked for Pure Carbon, International Paper Co. and was a driver for the Amish. He was a member of God’s Eternal Life Church, a member of American Legion Post 284, Avis, PA, Weimer Ministries where along with his wife he spread the word of God through song and words. Gary truly loved to sing. He also enjoyed woodworking and installing roofing and siding. He had been a former member of the Coudersport Fire Department .

1 Step-Son: Kenneth A (Renae Snyder) Hancharik, Mill Hall, PA
2 Sisters: Gladys Archambault, Williamsport, PA and Elaine Wilsom, Canada
1 Aunt: Velma Wilson, Portville, NY
3 Grandchildren: Carter Schaffer, Katie & Chris Weimer

A funeral service honoring the life of Gary A. Weimer will be held Sunday, November 24, 2019 at 6 PM in the Hillview Wesleyan Church, 1200 W 4th St. Flemington, PA with Pastors Dean Williams, Jack Styer and Carl Schmidt officiating. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Friends will be received in the church from 4-6 PM Sunday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Altoona VA Medical Center Patient Activities Fund through the funeral home.
