Louise I. (Dale) Shoemaker

September 21, 1919 ~ August 17, 2018 (age 98)

Louise I. Shoemaker, 98, a resident at the Haven Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Lock Haven, PA and a former resident of 101 S. Water St., Mill Hall died August 17, 2018 at the  Nursing & Rehab Center. Born Sept. 21, 1919 in Lemont, PA she was the daughter of the late Jared Y. and Grace Barnard Dale. On January 30, 1936 she married John E. Shoemaker who died December 5, 1976.

Louise and her late husband owned and operated the former Shoemaker Gulf Station, the Mill Hall News Agency and she was a former Tipstaff at the Clinton Co. Courthouse.  She was a member of the 1st Church of Christ, Lock Haven, PA. Louise enjoyed reading, travelling and flower gardening.

                2 Sisters:       Janet (Harry) Cummings, Sr., Avis, PA  and Beverly (Jerry) Barzona, Mill Hall, PA

                1 Brother:      Gordon (Lois) Dale, Mill Hall, PA  

                8 Grandchildren:  John (Kim) Shoemaker, III; Joan (Myron) Meyer; Melvin Patrick; Steven

                                                 Patrick; Susan Patrick; Christina (Randy) Merrill; Michelle Marzzacco and

                                                Jacob J. Shoemaker

                 2 Daughters-in-law:  Connie Shoemaker, Lock Haven, PA and Eileen Shoemaker, Philadelphia, PA

                 Many Great Grandchildren and Many Great- Great Grandchildren

                 A very special Great-Great Granddaughter, Alicia Becker

Funeral services and interment in Rest Haven Memorial Park will be held at the convenience of the family with no public visitation.

Family suggest memorial contributions be made to either the Ross Library or the American Red Cross through the funeral home.
