Dorothy Grieb Korman, 94, of State College, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on December 5th, 2020. She was born on May 23rd, 1926, in Lamar, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Jay and Luella Grieb. On September 11th, 1948, she was married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church to Guy N. Korman.
Dorothy retired from Penn State University as a manager after 21 years of service. She was a member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church in State College. Dorothy was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an affectionate Nana. She was as selfless as she was kind, and she had the ability to care so deeply for so many. When you were talking to Dorothy, you were the center of her universe.
She was preceded in death by her husband Guy and son Guy Korman, Jr. of Hanover, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her son Scott Korman and his wife Lisa of State College, her daughter Cindy Korman Turner and her husband Roland, of Palm Bay, Florida, and her daughter-in-law Julie Korman, of Hanover. She is also survived by three grandsons, Jim, Rob, and Justin, and three granddaughters, Meegan, Motique, and Tori.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the “Clinton County Historical Society,” in care of Elaine Miller, P.O. Box 444, Lamar, Pennsylvania, 16848.
