Obituary

Gail Frye, 80, 94 Hill St., Mill Hall, PA died April 21,2021 at the Gatehouse Hospice , Williamsport, PA. Born September 2, 1940 in Lock Haven, PA he was the son of the late Kenneth and Sara Annis Frye.

Gail was a 1958 graduate of the Bald Eagle Nittany High School and had attended Lycoming College. On June 3, 1960 he married the love of his life Ginny Stevenson who survives at home. Gail had worked at the former Hammermill Paper Co. for 28 years and retired from Penn State University after 15 years of service.

He was a member and Trustee of the Mill Hall United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, riding bike on the rails to trails, and attending high school and college wrestling events with Ginny and their friends. Gail was a long time board member of the Cedar Hill Cemetery Association until the time of his passing and was, for several years, caretaker at the cemetery.

He is survived by:

     2 Daughters: Tammy (Bruce) Wetterau , Chestertown, MD and Beth (Jack, Jr.) Bechdel, Sinking Spring, PA.

     3 Granddaughters: Alycia Vansant, Alexandra (fiancé Nathaniel Fahey) Vansant and Erica (fiancée Kyle O’Neill) Bechdel

     1 Grandson: Adam (Erika) Bechdel

      2 Great-Granddaughters:  Addison and Scarlett

Friends will be received in the Dean K. Wetzler, Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall, PA Monday, April 26, 2021 from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM.  

A funeral service honoring the life of Gail Frye will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions are suggested to either the Mill Hall United Methodist Church or the Rails to Trails Conservancy through the funeral home.
