Randy I Lapriola of Lock Haven left behind the pain and suffering of the insidious disease ALS and walked into the loving arms of his Lord and his mother on July 22, 2021. Randy was born January 19, 1957 to Frank C Lapriola Sr. and the late Lila Diebert Lapriola in Lock Haven, Pa. He attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School and graduated in 1974 from Lock Haven Senior High School. After graduation and trying his hand at factory work for a period of time, he joined the Army, receiving basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and his paramedic training at Fort Sam Huston, Texas. He served at West Point as part of the medical staff for a period of time as well. Randy finished his military career as an Army Recruiter based out of the Williamsport office, working in an office at the Lock Haven YMCA with one of his best friends, Guy Hanley. Randy also had many other jobs over the years, from selling insurance, radio advertising for several local stations and the local paper, managing the Roxy Theater for a short period of time, being a shift manager at Pizza Hut and ending his work career as a used car salesman for Puff Auto. In 2007 he and his wife Amy moved to Vero Beach Florida where he “retired” to a life of leisure. While in Pennsylvania Randy enjoyed spending time playing cards with his friend Ken Zndonowski, drinking beer with Wayne Doyle and while living in Florida, spending evenings beside the pool of his friends Bill and Nancy Julien. Anyone that spent time with Randy will have stories to tell about their time spent with him.
Randy married his wife Amy (Toner) on September 18, 1998. During their years together they attended hundreds of concerts enjoying all types of music from Pink Floyd to Brooks and Dunn. He loved rock, she loves country so they made a perfect pair. They have a small shoe box full of ticket stubs and pictures from all their shows. Randy loved spending time with his family and friends as well as a good cold beer, warm summer nights and any Chinese Restaurant with a good buffet.
Randy was preceded in death by his mother and twin daughters. Along with his wife, he is survived by his father, Frank Lapriola Sr., his sons; Christopher Lapriola and daughter Emma, Jason Lapriola (Kimberly Knoble) and his children Tabitha, Gavin, Brody and Hudson. He also is survived by a step-son Harry (Brandi) Basinger and his son Sklyer Duffield and his step-daughter, whom he helped raise, Amanda Basinger and her children Madison and Chase. He is survived by one brother Frank Lapriola Jr and his partner Helen Villaneuva. Randy leaves behind his fur buddy Jack.
Anyone that was lucky enough to know Randy was lucky indeed. It is comforting to know that he and Guy are once again playing gin rummy; he and Steve Montarsi are listening to music together; he and his brother in law Dale Powers spend their afternoons together watching Gunsmoke; he is listening to Lawerance Welk with his Grand Mom on Saturday evenings and that he and his Mom are enjoying Sunset Ice Cream and Pudgies Pizza together once again.
