Obituary

Robert Eugene Caris, 59, 207 Beech Creek Ave., Mill Hall, PA died March 28, 2020 in Pittsburgh, PA. Born May 29, 1960 in Lock Haven he is the son of Bobby and Thelma Straley Caris who live in Mill Hall, PA. 

Rob was a 1979 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School where he was an active member of marching band drumline. He was a member of the Mill Hall United Methodist Church. Rob had a love for all kinds of cycles. As early as 1972 he had a small Honda bike which he tied to the railing at his home to save it from the flood. He continued  riding not only motorcycles but also various other kinds of bikes. Presently he was restoring an old Jeep. He was also involved as a trail runner  and continued riding bikes.

Rob was currently employed at Shop Vac and had previously been employed by Champion Rebuilders and had moved to Arkansas with the company for several years. He loved visiting historical places such as the covered bridges in Pennsylvania, the old furnace in Farrandsville and the trains in Altoona. While his son was growing up he was a baseball and soccer coach.  He also played volleyball and was a referee. 

Rob also loved cooking. 

In addition to his parents he is survived by:   

         2 Daughters: Monica (Steve Eoute) Caris, Mill Hall, PA. and Tabithia Caris. Coburn, PA

         1 Son: Derek Caris, Mill Hall, Pa 

         2 Sisters: Kim Kwiatek and Cathy Caris both of Mill Hall, PA 

         3 GrandChildren: Tyana (Larry Confer) Caris, Eugene and Evelyn Shinn 

         Several Nieces and Nephews

 

The graveside services  previously announced for Robert Eugene Caris has been cancelled because of the COVID-19 situation. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held after the restrictions are lifted. This event will be announced  to the public.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to  Sharing Hope Ministries for trail runs c/o the funeral home.
