Violet L. Hassinger, 72, Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall, passed away November 10, 2020 at her home. Born September 13, 1948 in Stuart, Florida, and was the daughter of the late Troy and Bertha Houston Harmon. On July 18, 1992, in Zion, PA she married Steven E. Hassinger, who survives at home.
Violet was a longtime lighting consultant at the Hite Company, on the Benner Pike, in State College, PA. She attended the Zion Community Church singing in the choir, she loved to paint, and read novels.
She is survived by her children Tommy (Melissia) Spencer of Roxboro, NC; Cynthia (Tony) Carlyle of Griffton, NC; Jennifer (Shane) Lumpkin of Okachobee, FL; Irene Spencer (widow of son Jerry) of Port Saint John, FL; Step-daughter Loretta L (Shawn) Thomson of Fort Ashley, NC; two brothers Troy and Jack Harmon; two sisters Alice Coburn of Florida, and Dorothy Harmon of Tennessee; she had 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Violet was preceded in her death by her son Jerry Spencer, and sister Frances Harmon.
